Double-hung is the most-installed window style in Frisco. Almost every brick traditional we replace in The Trails, Phillips Creek Ranch, Heritage Lakes, Plantation Resort, Stonebriar, and Newman Village uses double-hungs as the dominant style on bedroom and primary-living openings. Two reasons: the tilt-in sashes make cleaning second-story exterior glass safe, and the traditional six-over-six or one-over-one sash proportions read correctly on the brick-and-stone facades that dominate Frisco architecture.

For master bedrooms, top-only operation is a meaningful comfort feature. You can vent the room from above for cooling without exposing the lower sash to a curious pet or toddler. For two-story foyers and stair landings, the cleaning advantage is real — most of those upper windows have not been cleaned since installation because reaching them from outside requires a lift or a ladder. Tilt-in sashes solve that problem permanently.

The energy performance gap between modern double-hung and casement is smaller than it used to be. Premium double-hung from Andersen 400 Series, Pella Lifestyle, Marvin Elevate, and JELD-WEN Premium Vinyl all hit U-factor 0.28 to 0.30 with triple-silver Low-E and argon — close enough to casement that for most Frisco openings, the visual fit and cleaning advantage of double-hung wins.
